S.E.R.T – Surfer Emergency Response Training –
This course is designed to give those from the Surfing Community the necessary skills to act during a medical emergency, including trauma to the body, massive bleeding, CPR and more
About the Course:
Surfer’s are the “Lifeguards of the Seas”, responding to swimmers in trouble when Lifeguards are not On Duty. This course will give the Surfer more tools to help during various medical emergencies.
Course Content
- CPR for the Adult and Child age victim (1 year of age and above)
- Every participant will receive an AHA CPR Anytime kit to keep, for FREE
- Bleeding Control, including the use of tourniquets, wound packing and how to treat impaled objects
- How to treat for Shock
- Working together as a team
- Relief of foreign-body airway obstruction (choking) for adults and infants
- Every participants receives a STOP THE BLEED certificate. There is no CPR certification that comes with this course
Safety Protocols
Due to the recommendations from the CDC and State of NJ, wearing a mask is now optional. To provide a safe environment, if you are not feeling well, have any signs or symptoms of a COVID-19, have a fever, or other respiratory issues, you will not be allowed to attend the skill session, and will be rescheduled to the next available date that fits your schedule. If you have a temperature of 100.4 or higher, you will not be allowed into the training room and not allowed to take the course for that day, and will be rescheduled. Touchless Hand Sanitizer dispensers are available for your use.
